Wednesday afternoon Fred Thompson

Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Religious and Ethics Liberty Commission, has some nice words about Thompson:

“Fred Thompson reminds me of a Southern-fried Reagan,” Land said. “To see Fred work a crowd must be what it was like to watch Rembrandt paint.”
The New Yorker with a thorough and generally well-balanced article on Thompson.
Editor & Publisher sees him as lacking in name recognition. Bruce Walker at The American Daily would bristle at E & P's conlusions of 'President-Elect Fred Thompson'.

I know this is going to come as a shock to you myra, but when the first rumblings of W were just beginning, I said, "who's he and which state is he the governor of?"

There's some blackmail material for you. FT may be in the shadows right now, but I see that as a positive thing. The ones who are scurrying out of the corners at a fast clip right now are going to burn themselves out to the public. I hope FT times this whole thing right, which, I believe he will.

I agree, bg. Better out of the spotlight for now. I think many Repubs still aren't aware that the field is so sparse. I think he'll be able to raise $$ no matter when he enters.

I agree, and I'll be opening up my pocketbook if he continues on the path that he's on now. If he vears off the 'right' path? Forget it.
