New Black Panther's Join the Duke Lacrosse Fray

Snarkists have to chuckle at the headline. But apparently it is true. When in need of credibility rehabilitation, where would one go but to the New Black Panther Party?

The alleged victim in the Duke lacrosse rape case is getting support from the New Black Panther Party.

Members are on Durham street corners, handing out fliers to drum up support for the cause. The fliers have mugshots of Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann, the two lacrosse players accused of raping the stripper at a party on March 13. The fliers say, "Had enough of disrespect and racism from Duke University?"

Who's the next in the parade of fools? Beetlejuice? KKK guy? Talkleft thinks it might be the shrillest and most attention starved voice in femipunditry, Gloria Allred.

UPDATE: The purported reason for the arrival of the New and Improved Black Panthers was to protect the accuser's family due to the death threats they were receiving. Apparently, there have been no death threats.
